Performing Study Lookup
The Study Lookup functionality enables you to search your patient studies.
When you click Study Lookup option and you have no access granted to a device (i.e., enrolled) by the Site Admin, the you cannot query/search patient data. The following message is displayed:
"You do not have permission to search Patient Data. If you think you should have the permission, contact your Site Admin."
To perform a study lookup, follow the steps listed below.
- Click the Physician Access menu icon (
) on the left vertical pane to display the available options.
- Click Recent Studies.
- Click the Study / Code Lookup button on the top of the study list to display the available options.
- Click Study Lookup.
The Study Lookup pop-up window is displayed.
- Enter or select the search criteria.Note:
The Last Name, Birthdate, and Gender fields are mandatory.

Enter or select this information
Last Name (required)
Enter the patient's full last name.
For example, enter "Carter" to search for a patient with last name as "Carter".
Note:The name is not case sensitive.
First Name (optional)
Enter the patient's full or partial first name.
For example, enter "S" to search for a patient with first name as "Suzanna".
Note:The name is not case sensitive.
Patient ID (optional)
Enter the patient's identification number.
Birthdate (required)
In the Birthdate field, click the calendar icon. The calendar is displayed.
The current year and the current month are displayed by default.

To customize the year, click the drop-down list next to the year and select the desired option.

To customize the month, click the drop-down list next to the month and select the desired option.
Tip:You can also navigate between months by selecting the previous (
) or next (
) arrow.
Select the required date.
By default, today's date is preselected.
To clear the date selection, click Clear at the bottom of the calendar.
Gender
Select the patient's gender from the drop-down list.
Study From Date/Study To Date
To search for studies in the specified date range, select the start and end date.

In the Study From Date field, click the calendar icon. The calendar is displayed.
The current year and the current month are displayed by default.

To customize the year, click the drop-down list next to the year and select the desired option.

To customize the month, click the drop-down list next to the month and select the desired option.
Tip:You can also navigate between months by selecting the previous (
) or next (
) arrow.
Select the required date.
By default, today's date is preselected.
Note:Once the value is displayed in the Study From Date field, the Study To Date field displays the current date.
To clear the date selection, click Clear at the bottom of the calendar.

In the Study To Date field, click the calendar icon to customize the end date. The calendar is displayed.
The current year and the current month are displayed by default.

Select the required date. By default, today's date is preselected. The dates displayed ahead of the current date are disabled.

Note:Once the value is displayed in the Study From Date field, the Study To Date field displays the current date.
To clear the date selection, click Clear at the bottom of the calendar.

Modality (optional)
Select the required modality check box(es).
Note:You can select multiple modalities at a time.
To deselect a modality, click the selected modality check box.

- In the DICOM Devices section, the list of devices associated with your site are displayed. Select the device(s) to search for studies that match the search criteria.Note:
Only devices that belong to the organization you are logged in and have access granted to are displayed.
The devices listed in the DICOM Device section are selected by default.
You can deselect all the devices by clicking Deselect All.
You can also individually deselect the device by clicking on the DICOM device name.
- Click Search.Note:
Clicking Search without entering search values in all mandatory fields and without selecting any device results in displaying the "Please enter all mandatory fields" error message above the Study Lookup section and the "Please select at least one device" error message above the device list.
The Search DICOM Device > Patients > <patient name> window is displayed, showing the list of studies matching your search criteria. It shows patient details (patient name, Patient ID, Gender, date of birth (DOB), and age Age) and information for all studies matching the search criteria (File Name, accession number (Accession #), Modality, Study Date, and Resource name).
Note:Study lookup requires the patients’ names stored in the archive to contain both first and last name or at least a caret (^) after the last name in the storage solution.
If a patient name is stored with only last name in the archive, the lookup will not perform as expected and will return the following error message:
"Patient details not found"
If the search returns no results for the search criteria, the following message is displayed:
"No matching records found."
- To select a study manually:
- Click the right part of the study line.
The study will be highlighted with a frame.
- Click Add to My Studies.
Tip:Click Cancel to navigate back to the Access Code Lookup window.
The selected study is added to Recent Studies list.
Note:If a study already exists in Recent Studies list, the application displays the "Case already exists in recent studies" message, and the study is not added in the list.
Note:If a case already exists, but new report(s) found and added to the case, then on clicking the Add to My Studies button, the following message is displayed:
"Per your request a report have been successfully added to existing case # <case number>"
If multiple studies are selected and new reports are added in each of the study, the following message is displayed:
"Per your request a report have been successfully added to existing case(s) # <case numbers>"
