Resetting Password with Your SMS Enabled Device

Note:

The Resetting Password with your SMS enabled device option is accessible only if your organization has enabled SMS verification.

If you've forgotten your password or have been locked out of Edison Datalogue Connect, then do the following to reset your password with your SMS enabled device.

  1. On the Sign In page, click on Forgot your password? link.

    The Forgot your password? dialog is displayed.

  2. Enter your account's registered email address.
  3. Click Send.
  4. Select Reset password with your SMS enabled device.
    Note:

    By selecting this option, a security code will be sent to your SMS enabled device to validate your identity. If not used, this code will expire after 10 minutes.

  5. Type the CAPTCHA code.
    Note:

    The CAPTCHA code is displayed only if the organization you are subscribed to has enabled this option.

  6. Optionally, click (Reload CAPTCHA) for a new code.
  7. Click Send.

    You will receive an email with a link to reset your password and SMS Code will be sent to your registered cell phone number. The SMS Code will be valid for 10 minutes.

    Note:

    Add no-reply@edlc.com to your approved sender list to prevent email notifications from Edison Datalogue Connect being accidentally discarded as spam. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. If you still cannot locate the email, contact your Edison Datalogue Connect administrator.

  8. From the email, click the Click here to reset the password link.

    The SMS Verification page is displayed.

  9. Enter the verification code from the SMS message sent to your registered cell phone number.
    Note:

    If you haven't received the SMS code, click the Resend the SMS Message link.

  10. Click Submit.

    The Reset Password and Security Answers page is displayed.

  11. Enter or select information as indicated in the table below.

    New Password (mandatory)

    Enter the new password.

    Password should be at least 8 characters long. Use at least one lower case alphabet, one upper case alphabet, one number and one special character except "*".

    Note:

    If you used spaces in the password, the following error message is displayed:

    "Password cannot contain spaces. Please correct and try again."

    Confirm Password (mandatory)

    Re-enter the same password.

    Show Password (optional)

    Check this box if you wish to see your password as plain text.

    Note:

    Ensure that no one sees your password when you click on this check box to preserve password secrecy.

    Security Question 1

    Select a security question from the drop-down list.

    Security Answer 1

    Enter the relevant security answer.

    Security Question 2

    Select a security question from the drop-down list.

    Note:

    The security question selected as Security Question 1 will not be available for this selection.

    Security Answer 2

    Enter the relevant security answer.

    Note:

    Note down the security questions and answers for safe keeping. You will need these answers if and when you want to reset your password.

  12. Click Save.
    Note:

    If you have kept the Reset Password page open for more than a hour, the Reset Password process will expire and the following error message will be displayed:

    "The Reset Password link has expired. Please return to the Sign-in screen and click the Reset Password again."

    On successful update, the Sign In page opens. The following message is displayed at the top of the screen:

    "Your password was reset successfully. Log in to access your account."

    You are now able to sign in with your updated credentials.

    You will receive an email after the password is successfully reset.
