Adding attachments to an MDT case

This procedure requires MDT Group Member or Coordinator privileges.
Use this procedure to add attachment(s) to in progress (non-finalized) MDT cases.
  1. On the left pane:
    • Click Case Exchange > All Cases to add attachment to a case that has not been sent to MDT.

      OR

    • Click MDT > My MDT to add attachment to a case that has already been sent to MDT.

    The case list appears.

  2. Click a case to select it.

    The selected case is highlighted and the case details are shown on the right-hand side.

  3. Proceed as applicable.
    • If you opened the case from Case Exchange > All Cases, click Reply above the case details.
    • If you opened the case from MDT > My MDT, click + ADD TO CASE on the Resources tab on the right of the case summary.

    The Add to Case pane appears.

    The Add to Case pane includes the following information/options:

    • The subject of the case.

      It is pre-populated with the case subject and cannot be modified.

    • Message text box.
    • The High Priority check box.
    • Attachment options.
    • The patient banner, showing patient name (including last, first and middle name), the Patient Id, Sex, Age (calculated from the date of birth) and date of birth (DOB, in dd mmm yyyy format).
    • The View Existing Case Details option to display information about the existing attachment(s).
  4. Type a message of not more than 5000 characters (e.g., indicating the reason for adding the attachment) in the Message text box (mandatory).
  5. Select the High Priority check box if required.
  6. Add attachment(s) to the case.

    The following options are available:

    • Add Imaging from CD/DVD/Local DICOM to add DICOM studies from a CD, DVD or your local hard disk drive.

      You can use this option multiple times to attach additional DICOM studies from a CD, DVD or your local hard disk drive to an MDT case.

    • Search Imaging on PACS to add DICOM studies from a connected PACS.

      You can use this option multiple times to attach additional DICOM studies from a connected PACS to an MDT case.

    • Add non-DICOM (PDFs, etc.) to add non-DICOM attachments.

      You can use this option multiple times to attach additional non-DICOM files to an MDT case.

      Supported non-DICOM file formats:

      PDF; DOC; DOCX; XLS; XLSX; CSV; RTF; TIFF; TIF; TXT; BMP; JPEG; JPG; PPT; PPTX; XML; MP4; MOV; CDA; DCM; CZI; MP3; WMA; AVI; MPG

    • Attach Template to add a predefined template.

      You can add multiple templates to an MDT case, but you can add one template at a time.

      Upon clicking Attach Template, the Template dialog box appears.

      Select the template you want to attach to the case:
      1. From the Site Selection drop-down menu, select ALL PUBLIC TEMPLATES to display all public templates or select a site to display site-specific templates.
      2. Select the report type using the All, Request or Report option buttons.
      3. Optionally, start typing the name of a specific template in the search box to further filter the list of available templates.

      The following options are available:

      • Fill Out.

        Click Fill Out to open the attachment and add information to it.

      • Attach.

        Click Attach to add the template to the case.

        You are not required to fill out the template before attaching it to the case, but the Attach button remains inactive (appears dimmed) if you previously did not click the Fill Out button.

      • Attach & Finalize.

        After having filled out the template, click Attach & Finalize to attach the template in .PDF format to the case.

        Once the template is finalized, it can no longer be edited.

      • Cancel.

        Click Cancel to discard the changes and exit the Template dialog box.

    For additional details about adding attachments to a case, refer to the Edison Datalogue Connect Case Exchange user documentation.

    If the case already has attachment(s), click View Existing Case Details to view the attached file(s). Click View Existing Case Details again to close this section.

    If images are attached from different sources (i.e., DICOM devices and CD/DVD/file system), the patient banner will be displayed only once, when first image is attached, regardless of the source.

  7. Click Add to update the MDT case or click Cancel to discard the changes and close the Add to Case pane.

    When new attachment (or comment) is added to an MDT case in an upcoming MDT session, the application will send an email notification to the coordinator(s) and members of the affected MDT group.

    Note: Case attachments cannot be removed.
