Viewing Non-DICOM Attachments

You can access the non-DICOM attachments from the case list. With the help of the Snowbound Document Viewer, you can easily view the Non-DICOM attachments in a case without having to download and install special tools to your device.

Note:

The Snowbound Document Viewer is used for non-diagnostic reviews only.

It supports the following file formats: PDF, TIFF, TXT, BMP, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, JPG, JPEG.

To view non-DICOM attachments, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Click the Case Exchange icon () on the left vertical pane.
  2. Click All Cases.

    The list of shared and received cases is displayed.

  3. From the case list, select the case that contains the non-DICOM attachment.

    The selected case is highlighted and the case details are shown on the right-hand side.

  4. In the Case Summary section, click the non-DICOM attachment.
    Tip:

    You can also view the non-DICOM attachment by clicking on the file name on the Resources tab.

    The non-DICOM attachment opens in the Document Viewer.

    It shows the patient header on the top which displays the patient name, patient ID, Sex, Age, date of birth (DOB) and the file name (as applicable).

    Note:

    XML files do not open in the Document Viewer.

    When you hover the mouse pointer over these files, the following tooltip is displayed:

    "File format not supported in the document viewer"

    The Document Viewer provides the following functions:

    • Click Magnifier to zoom in to display a larger portion of the selected object. It automatically enables the pan tool.

    • Click Zoom in to zoom in on the display.

    • Click Zoom out to zoom out on the display.

      Zooming out will be disabled once the object fits completely in the display area.

      You can also use rubber band zoom to zoom in by windowing.

    • Use the Fit to window, Fit to height and Fit to width functions to fit the document to the display.

    • You can navigate through the document by using the previous page, next page, first page and last page buttons.

      The total number of pages in the documents are also displayed.

      You can toggle through documents by using the thumbnails displayed on the right-hand side.

    • You can rotate the document by using the Rotate Right and Rotate Left options.

    • Note:

      The other functionalities in Document Viewer are not available to Edison Datalogue Connect and are disabled.

  5. Click the X button in the upper-right corner to exit the Document Viewer and return to the case details page.
