Normalizing Patient Information - Reconciliation with PACS

Before downloading a study to your hospital's DICOM device, you can normalize the patient information by using Reconcile with PACS option. You can edit study header information including patient name (first, middle and last), patient ID, birth date, sex, and accession number.

To reconcile patient information with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), follow the steps listed below.

  1. Click the Case Exchange icon () on the left vertical pane.
  2. Click All Cases.

    The list of shared and received cases is displayed.

  3. Select a case to open.
  4. From the Resources tab on the right-hand side of the screen, click the Save to DICOM Device () icon.
    Note:

    The Save to DICOM Device option for Clinician/Admin Users is enabled only when the DICOM attachment in the case has successful upload status. If the DICOM study attachment has status In Progress or Upload Failed status, the Save to DICOM Device option is disabled.

  5. Under Studies, , select the required study by clicking on the check box next to the study name.
    Tip:

    To select all the studies, click on the check box beside the File Name label.

  6. Select the Reconcile with PACS download method.
    Note:

    The download options are enabled after you have selected the study/studies.

  7. Select the required PACS device as download location.
  8. Click Next.

    A new page opens that shows patient results available for comparison. The search results are based on the last name and birth date of patient.

  9. Select a patient to compare.
  10. Click Next.

    The Study Normalization page is displayed. It shows all details of the patient in comparison mode.

    Note:

    If there are more than one studies for the patient, the first study is opened for comparison.

  11. In the Patient Info section, you can update the patient information.

    You can edit the First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, and Patient ID.

    You cannot edit Sex (or Gender) and date of birth (DOB) if the patient studies in the cloud already contain the corresponding values.

    You can also update the accession number (Accession No.). The Accession No. field is limited to 50 characters.

    Note:

    Fields marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory fields that need to be updated.

    Note:

    You can compare the further studies of the patient by clicking the arrow key buttons () in the lower-right corner of the page.

    The information updated in the Patient Info section for any of the studies gets updated for other studies for the selected patient.

  12. Click Complete.

    The following confirmation message is displayed:

    "<Number of studies selected> of <total number of studies> Total Study(ies) have been updated, would you like to continue?"

  13. Click Continue.

    The following message is displayed:

    "Download to PACS is in progress. You will be notified when completed."

    If a technical issue occurs, the following message is displayed:

    "An error has occurred. Please try again"
