Locking a Case

Note:

If you are a self registered user with no access to site, you will not be able to lock a case. The Lock button is disabled and when you point the cursor to the button, the following tooltip is displayed:

"You do not have the permission to Lock. If you think you should have the permission, contact your Site Admin."

You can a lock a case for maximum 30 minutes.

For example, a case is shared with you along with three more users. If you have to make an important update to this case, you can lock the case so that other users cannot update any information until you make the required update.

Note:

The lock duration may vary from site to site.

To lock a case, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Click the Case Exchange icon () on the left vertical pane.
  2. Click All Cases.

The list of shared and received cases is displayed.

  3. Select the case that you want to lock.

"The case has been successfully locked for 30 minutes."

When a case is locked, the user who has locked the case and all the other case participants will not be allowed to move the case from Inbox to Archived (and conversely) during the lock duration.

    For the other case participants:

    • The Case Summary is updated with a locking message entry:

"The case was locked for <lock duration> by <name of user> at <date and time of locking> and unlocks automatically at <date and time of unlocking>."

    • The Reply, Share, Unlock, Archive, Send to MDT, Download All Resources, and Save to DICOM Device action buttons are disabled.

    • An email is sent mentioning the details of the case locked.

    • The locked case is displayed with the lock icon () on the case list and the Case Summary section.

      Note:

The case is automatically unlocked after 30 minutes.
