Adding DICOM Attachments to a Case from CD/DVD/Local System
If you are a self registered user with no access to site, you will not be able to reply to a case. The Reply button is disabled and when you point the cursor to the button, the following tooltip is displayed:
"You do not have the permission to Reply. If you think you should have the permission, contact your Site Admin."
This option is available in Internet Explorer® (IE) 11, and Google Chrome™ browser on the desktop machine and Windows® Surface® tablet, but not from Chrome browser on mobile device.
If you are accessing the application from a previous Internet Explorer browser version or from any other browser on your desktop machine, iPad or mobile device, the Add Imaging from CD/DVD/Local DICOM option is disabled and you can see the following text added below the button::
"Available on Google Chrome"
To add DICOM attachments from CD/DVD/Local DICOM to a case, follow the steps listed below.
- Click the Case Exchange icon (
) on the left vertical pane.
- Click All Cases.
The list of shared and received cases is displayed.
- Select a case to open.
The selected case is highlighted and the case details are shown on the right-hand side.
- Click Reply.
The Add to Case page is displayed.
Note:The Subject field is populated with the case subject and it cannot be modified.
- In the Message text box, enter a message you would like to send with the case.Note:
Messages are limited to 5000 characters. As the characters are added, it lowers the count of the number (5000) present in the left corner. Once the characters exceed 4950, the number in the left corner appears in red. When the count is zero, no more characters can be entered. It is mandatory to enter a message.
- Select the High Priority check box if the case requires urgent attention.Note:
If the existing case is a high priority case, the High Priority check box is enabled by default.
The View Existing Case Details section is opened by default. This section displays the details of the already attached studies to the case.

If DICOM studies are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled From DICOM along with the attachment count.

If non-DICOM studies are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled From Files along with the file count.

If templates are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled 'From Templates' along with the attachment count.

If the case has no attachments, the View Existing Case Details section is not displayed.
A blue banner containing the patient details is displayed above the View Existing Case Details section if patient's basic demographics are provided during case creation.

- Click Add Imaging from CD/DVD/Local DICOM.
You can add images by selecting any of the following two options:

Select Files.

Select Folder.
To attach files:
- Click Select Files.
The Open window is displayed.
- Select the location on your computer or network that contains the DICOM file.
- Click Open.
You can select multiple files, but the total file size must not exceed 5 GB.
To attach a folder:
- Click Select Folder.
The Select Folder to Upload window is displayed.
- Select a folder location that contains the DICOM study files on your computer or network.
- Click Upload.
Note:The patient studies are validated with patient name, date of birth, gender and patient ID. If any of these parameters do not match, the study is not uploaded and the following message is displayed:
"Please select study(ies) for <Patient Name> only"

- Click Upload to proceed with the upload.Note:
To cancel the upload process, click Cancel.
Note:-
When you select a folder containing DCM files and the upload is successful, the following message is displayed:
"<Number of DICOM files> successfully read"

When you select a folder containing DCM files along with other files, then only DCM files are selected for processing and other files are ignored and the following message is displayed:
"<Number of files> is successfully read, <Number of files> non-supported file(s) ignored."

When you select a folder that contains more than 5000 files, the following message is displayed:
"<Number of files> selected, please select less than 5000 files."

When you select a folder that is larger than 1 GB in size, the following message is displayed:
"The attachment exceeds the allowable limit."

Each file size in the folder cannot be greater than 250 MB.
The CD/DVD/Local DICOM Results screen is displayed that shows the selected patient's details.

The patient banner shows the patient name, Patient ID, Sex, Age, and the date of birth (DOB).
It displays the label Local on the top-right corner of the patient banner.

For every patient a link to view the studies associated with patient is displayed below the patient banner.
For example, if two studies are associated with the patient, the following link is displayed:

The study details displayed are study description, study date, study modality/modalities, study size and accession number. The cloud symbol is displayed for those studies that are already are on the cloud.

- Select the studies you want to add to the case.
- Click Attach Studies.Note:

If the already attached study for this case is found in the selected directory, the following message is displayed:
"The study will update the existing study in the case."

If new dcm file is found for the same study in the selected directory, the following message is displayed with a check box that is selected by default:
"Additional DICOM file(s) found"
Remove the selection if you do not want to upload the additional DICOM files.
The Add to Case page opens with the attached studies displayed under From Local File System.
The total number of attachment(s) and total size of the attachment(s) is displayed next to the From Local File System label.
The total count of attachments is displayed next to Add Attachments label.
The number of attachment for the already uploaded studies remains the same, which is shown next to the From DICOM label.
Note:To delete the newly added study, click the delete icon (
).
Note:The Search Imaging on PACS option is disabled, which means you cannot add any DICOM files from PACS to this case.
You can add non-DICOM files to the case by clicking the Add Non-DICOM (PDFs, etc) option.

- Click Add to add the selected DICOM files to the case.
If the total size of the non-DICOM attachments exceeds the configured size limit, the Upload window is displayed.
Click Continue to proceed with the upload.

Select the Don't show again during this session check box if you do not want the alert window to pop up during the session login period.

Click Cancel to cancel the upload process.
The message below is displayed and the upload progress of the DICOM files is shown.
"Case update is in progress. You will be notified when the case has been updated successfully"
On successful upload of the DICOM files, the files are displayed on the Resources tab under the heading titled Studies.
After the case is created and shared successfully, it is added to the list of shared cases. You can click the Shared sub-menu to review the case.
If the DICOM study fails to upload, it is displayed in red.
Note:-
When there is a system/network/connectivity issue and the case creation fails, the following error message is displayed:
"An error has occurred, please try again."

If you close the browser, while the upload is in progress, the following alert message is displayed:
"Do you want to leave this site? Changes you made may not be saved."
Click Stay to allow the upload process to complete, or click Leave to close the browser.

If you reload the browser, while the upload is in progress, the following alert message is displayed:
"Do you want to reload this site? Changes you made may not be saved."
Click Don't Reload to allow the upload process to complete, or click Reload to reload the browser.
The updated case is displayed as the first case in the case list. A new transaction is created in the Case Summary, and is displayed on top along with the date and time.
Note:Regardless of whether the case has been updated with comments and/or additional attachments, an email notification is sent to all the existing recipients.
