Adding Other Attachments to a Case
If you are a self registered user with no access to site, you will not be able to reply to a case. The Reply button is disabled and when you point the cursor to the button, the following tooltip is displayed:
"You do not have the permission to Reply. If you think you should have the permission, contact your Site Admin."
To add non-DICOM attachments to an existing case, follow the steps listed below.
- Click the Case Exchange icon (
) on the left vertical pane.
- Click All Cases.
The list of shared and received cases is displayed.
- Select a case to open.
The selected case is highlighted and the case details are shown on the right-hand side.
- Click Reply.
The Add to Case page is displayed.
Note:The Subject field is populated with the case subject and it cannot be modified.
- In the Message text box, enter a message you would like to send with the case.Note:
Messages are limited to 5000 characters. As the characters are added, it lowers the count of the number (5000) present in the left corner. Once the characters exceed 4950, the number in the left corner appears in red. When the count is zero, no more characters can be entered. It is mandatory to enter a message.
- Select the High Priority check box if the case requires urgent attention.Note:
If the existing case is a high priority case, the High Priority check box is enabled by default.
The View Existing Case Details section is opened by default. This section displays the details of the already attached studies to the case.

If DICOM studies are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled From DICOM along with the attachment count.

If non-DICOM studies are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled From Files along with the file count.

If templates are attached, the attachments are displayed under the heading titled 'From Templates' along with the attachment count.

If the case has no attachments, the View Existing Case Details section is not displayed.
A blue banner containing the patient details is displayed above the View Existing Case Details section if patient's basic demographics are provided during case creation.

- Click Add Non-DICOM (PDFs, etc).
The Open window is displayed.
- Select the file(s) to attach.
- Click Open.Note:
The supported file extensions are as follows:
.pdf; .doc; .docx; .xls; .xlsx; .csv; .rtf; .tiff; .tif; .txt; .bmp; .jpg; .jpeg; .ppt; .pptx; .xml; .mp4; .mov; .cda; .dcm; .czi; .mp3; .wma; .avi; .mpg; .rar
If you attempt to upload a file which is not supported, an error message is displayed.
The file(s) is/are added and displayed under the From Files label.
The file details displayed are file name, file size and creation date of the file.
The total number of attachment(s) and total size of the attachment(s) is displayed next to the From Files label.
The total number of attachments is also displayed next to the Add Attachments label.
Note:To delete the attachment, click the delete icon (
).
- Click Add.Note:
Clicking Cancel stops the case creation process.
If the total size of the non-DICOM attachments exceeds the configured size limit, the Upload window is displayed.
Click Continue to proceed with the upload.

Select the Don't show again during this session check box if you do not want the alert window to pop up during the session login period.

Click Cancel to cancel the upload process.
The application displays the "Case creation is in progress" message and the upload progress of the DICOM files is displayed in the Case Summary section.
On successful upload, the file is attached to the case.
You can view the contents of the file by clicking on the file name. The file opens in the Document Viewer.
To download the file, click the drop-down menu next to the file name, and then click Download.
The updated case is displayed as the first case in the case list. A new transaction is created in the Case Summary, and is displayed on top along with the date and time.
Note:The attached file(s) can also be seen on the Resources tab under the heading titled Documents once the file upload is successful.
To view the contents of the file, click on the file name.
To download the file, click the drop-down menu next to the file name and click Download.
Note:-
When you upload a new file whose name matches an existing file, you get the error message shown below and the file is not attached.
"Duplicate File – File is already attached."

When you add/open a file with size of 100 MB or more, the following message is displayed:
"File <File Name> is larger than the supported maximum size of 100MB."

When you are uploading more than one file, out of which one file is more than 100MB, the following message is displayed:
"File <File Name> is larger than the supported maximum size of 100MB."
The corresponding file is ignored and the other files are uploaded.

The maximum size allowed for uploading files is 200 MB.
When you attach four different 50 MB files with multiple selections at the same time, the following error message is displayed and no files appear in the list of the attached files:
"The total size of attached files cannot be larger than 200 MB"
When you have uploaded three files of around 175 MB and next you try to upload the fourth file of 50 MB, he following error message is displayed and the file is not uploaded:
"The total size of attached files cannot be larger than 200 MB"
When you attach three files each of 50 MB and then you attach the fourth file of 50 MB along with fifth file in an unsupported format, the following error message is displayed:
"The total size of attached files cannot be larger than 200 MB"

You can see two error messages at once.
For example, if you upload a file of an unsupported format (for example a .png file) of less than 100 MB along with another file in supported format of more than 100 MB, you get the following two messages:
"Supported files extensions are: pdf; doc; docx; xls; xlsx; csv; rtf; tiff; tif; txt; bmp; jpeg; jpg; cda; ppt; pptx; .dcm."
"<File name> is larger than the supported maximum size of 100 MB"
Note:-
When there is a system/network/connectivity issue and the case creation fails, the following error message is displayed:
"An error has occurred, please try again."

If you close the browser, while the upload is in progress, the following alert message is displayed:
"Do you want to leave this site? Changes you made may not be saved."
Click Stay to allow the upload process to complete, or click Leave to close the browser.

If you reload the browser, while the upload is in progress, the following alert message is displayed:
"Do you want to reload this site? Changes you made may not be saved."
Click Don't Reload to allow the upload process to complete, or click Reload to reload the browser.
Note:Regardless of whether the case has been updated with comments and/or additional attachments, an email notification is sent to all the existing recipients.
